What is the “overt brand exclusion fee”?

Introduction

We’re proud of the services we offer and programs we’ve developed, and while by design we focus on inspiring individuals and organizations to actively build on top of these – as a small private nonprofit we strongly value and depend on word of mouth and our brand to help get the word out about what we do, how we do it, and further our mission.

Background

Over the years there have been a few extreme and painful instances and a few unpleasant bad actors which have excluded mention of GoZERO Services as party to the food waste to composting disposal work being done so much so that it appears others are to credit for doing that which GoZERO is so proud and honored to do.

GoZERO strives to quietly make sure customers are served and in time the landfilling of food waste becomes a thing of the past. Day in and day out we know it takes many hands to get the job done well, and at the same time whenever possible in ways that do not create hardship, in the same spirit that GoZERO thinks and speaks of its customers always in the highest regard – it is an expectation that our customers think and speak of us also in the highest regard, mentioning our name as the organization which “supports” and/or “services” their respective food waste composting programs.

It’s not a religious or litigious thing, but over time and in instances when a good word could be valuable, please remember to mention GoZERO.

Fee Explanation

Because there have been painful instances and bad actors GoZERO has instituted the “Overt Brand Exclusion Fee” where if we notice our name being omitted in a way that could be construed as misplacing recognition for work done. We will reach out to request the situation be timely remedied. If the situation is not remedied timely, and we’ll plan to make sure there’s ample time and good communication, there will be a fee assessed so that GoZERO can afford to consider advertising in a way that a courtesy mention may have otherwise achieved.

Courtesy mentions may include usage of the GoZERO name, logo, and/or website in signage, collateral, content, references to being “supported” or “serviced” by, etc.
